No. You can create a free account and use the Free command tier. Stardust is available when you want timed Eclipse access, while Eclipse Membership is the unlimited option for frequent use.

What does one Stardust provide?

One Stardust provides one connected minute of Eclipse access. Packs currently cost $4.99 for 500, $9.99 for 1,250, or $19.99 for 3,000 Stardust. Waiting for a player or destination does not consume connected time.

What is included with Eclipse Membership?

Choose $9.99/month or $99.99/year in USD. Eligible new Eclipse subscribers get a 3-day free trial; a payment card is required. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. The full selected monthly or annual price renews until canceled.
